Vamos ("we", "us") is a spontaneous hangout app operated via tryvamos.app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to show your friends that you're free, and we never sell your data.
Account data. Name, username, email address, password (stored hashed), and an optional profile photo.
Status data. When you go "vamos": the time you started, the duration you chose, and which group can see you. Statuses expire automatically and are not shown after they end.
Social data. Your friend connections and the groups you create.
Approximate location (optional). Only if you enable venue suggestions, we use your approximate location to suggest nearby places. We do not store a history of your locations and your location is never shown to other users.
Device data. Push notification token and basic diagnostics (app version, crash logs).
To run the service: showing your status to the friends you choose, sending push notifications like "Marc just went vamos", suggesting nearby venues, and keeping the app secure. We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Your status is visible only to the friends in the group you select. We share data with service providers that host our infrastructure and deliver push notifications, under contracts limiting their use of it. We may disclose data if required by law.
Expired statuses are deleted from active systems within 30 days. You can delete your account at any time in Profile → Delete account, which permanently removes your profile, statuses, friendships, and groups within 30 days. You may also request deletion by email.
Depending on where you live (including the EU/EEA under GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data, and to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
Vamos is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
We'll post any changes to this policy here and update the effective date. Material changes will be announced in the app.
